Trust-Based Parenting with guest teacher Mako Nagasawa, Saturday October 17
Trinity’s friend Mako Nagasawa will be with us, teaching about trust-based parenting, with lessons he has learned from his study of early Christian theologians and from his work looking at the emotional side of our life in Jesus. Some of us are parents, all of us are God’s children, and as a community we have committed to standing together to support our children in their spiritual formation.

Annual Meeting, Saturday October 24
Following the service on the 24th…All parishioners are invited for our annual Trinity update, as well as voting on new members of the Parish Council and other church business.

All Saints October 31 - Names
Together we'll remember the faithful departed, give thanks for the communion of saints, and celebrate the hope of the resurrection. If you have loved ones who’ve left us in recent times, please forward those names to Michael before Thursday October 29th evening, so we can include them in the list of loved ones we remember during our service.

More details to come!

Dear friends,
Thank you all for being with us last week as we began our Communal Discernment discussion, followed by a lovely potluck gathering together.
We have such a wonderful community of families and friends.

We hope you can join us this week as we have a special message from our friend, Pastor Mako Nagasawa about Trust Based Parenting.

“…There are no silver bullets.  But there are practices, rooted in our character and connection with Jesus, that help us create a culture of positive presence and hopeful growth and accountability at home.”
-Mako Nagasawa

The quote above is from Trinity’s friend Mako Nagasawa, introducing a parenting workshop he leads, and goodness knows that first line is true — there are no simple, easy, one-size-fits-all solutions. But the same principles that make for trust-based parenting are also good for all relating, especially friendships. Mako will be with us this Saturday to share about this, and I am looking forward to it!

ALL SAINTS + NAMES
All Saints Day: the day in the church’s calendar when we commemorate not only the famous saints, but all the great mystical-and-real communion of saints who are alive now and, especially, those who have gone before us.

An important part of this commemoration is when the celebrant says the names of the beloved who we have lost in the past year.
Before Thursday evening October 29, please send Michael the names of anyone beloved of you who has died this past year or recently, who you would like to have lifted up before the Lord during Holy Eucharist this Sunday.

SECOND AND FOURTH MONDAYS AT ANCHOR POINT!
ANCHOR POINT GARDENING Final Gathering until Spring!
Our connection with ARocha led Biologos to us to hear about Mthr Jen and our project at Anchor Point — it is also a lovely example of our understanding of the church’s role as the Body of Christ in a community. Read it (and share it!) here.

Because it has been so meaningful to both residents and parishioners, we are extending our 2nd and 4th Monday garden club gatherings at Anchor Point through the end of October. Our next regularly scheduled gathering is Monday, 10/26, from 5-6pm. All are welcome!
Whether or not you’re a gardener, join us at the garden space at Anchor Point 5pm-6pm on the 2nd & 4th Monday.
Anchor Point is the community at the corner of Sohier and Tozer roads in Beverly.
